It was only recently that I had that ah ha moment as to why I do what I do, believe in what I believe in, and pour my daily tasks into what I regularly do. It was a realization that I have never felt good enough and consistently fear abandonment. This was made clear to me when I heard a wonderful friend of mine share their recovery story and I said so very loud to myself- ME TOO! Can you relate?

I believe that all of us have a fire within that can be lit and fueled to burn so very strong that we are capable of accomplishing anything.

I believe in our youth. They have taught me more about life in my 12 years of teaching than I could have ever imagined. The video above is everything! The staff and students at Emerald School of Excellence highlight their favorite components of the school day and they are my WHY.

Peer support is life saving. When we can have Me TOO moments on a regular basis, while also striving to earn achievements in recovery and academia, we add some serious firewood to that fire within.

I am honored and grateful to be able to work with my favorite people in the world.... teenagers.

We are fortunate, in that we have resumed in person classes due to our ability to practice social distancing, and follow CDC guidelines.
