Emerald School of Excellence opened with 2 students in the fall of 2019. Since we opened we have served over 80 students and their family members. In 2021, the school held the first graduation ceremony where we celebrated our 2 seniors. Both students went on to attend college and were accepted to multiple schools including Clemson, UNC Charlotte, Appalachian State, and others! Since then, we have graduated 26 more seniors who were accepted to CPCC, UNCG, MTSU, UNCC, USC, App State, Wingate, Palm Beach Atlantic, Berklee School of Music, Queens University, Mississippi State, UNCW, NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and more.
As the school grows, so does the need to offer financial assistance to families who are unable to pay full tuition. Families come to us having already paid for their student's treatment which ranges anywhere from $5,000 to $60,000. We know there are many adolescents in the community that we have yet to reach. We need YOU to help us to support adolescents in recovery. To create a sustainable and effective Recovery High School model in the Carolinas, we must be able to serve all eligible students in recovery from substance use or co-occurring disorders regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status.
The Emerald GEM Club is a monthly commitment to support Emerald School of Excellence students. By donating monthly, you can support us in providing a recovery-friendly education in a supportive and individualized environment to students in recovery from substance use and/or co-occurring disorders.
